Problem in Norton Antivirus installation.?

I purchased the original version of Norton Internet Security 2006 and is to expire by this month end. While it is in use I uninstall it as it was not able to remove a trojan and I install Norton 360, again an original version which could be used in 3 systems. I downloaded it from symantec site and got the key from a friend who use only in 2 systems. I installed it and it works nicely. But the installation was not proper as the required .dll file was corrupt and it shows error message often. So, I decided to uninstall it for reinstalling. While reinstalling, it doesn't gets installed. It shows a message as "Norton 360 setup detected a version of Norton Systems work that must be removed........." But no such program was found in Add or Remove programs list in control panel. How to solve this problem to install Norton 360 as I don't believe in free anti-virus softwares.

Also, I am unable to install Norton Internet Security 2006 as it shows a similar message. Help me out.

Problem in Norton Antivirus installation.?virus protection

Go to Symantec.com and download / run the Norton removal tool.

On a personal note; Norton are well known for being system and memory hogs and can slow your machine to a crawl. I would recommend one of the free AVs that you "don't believe in" as they are often as good as, and in a lot of cases, better than a paid for program (especially Norton).
