Help me configure my pc for fedora core 6!!?

i just installed fedora.i'm new to linux environment.

1) i tried doing simplest things like playing audio and video cds that play normally on windows.but in linux they are not being played-i'm getting a mesage tht the required decoder could not be found.

2) how can i configure to connect to my wi-fi network.

3)i'm also havin win xp installed on the same system and am using avast proffesional on it.do i have to install another antivirus for linux? if yes which one? are there different antivirus for linux? can i download from net?free?

For music and videos get VLC Media Player; it can play anything and it's completely free.

Get it here http://www.videolan.org/vlc and chose the Fedora Linux version.
