I had downloaded this AVG antivirus setup and when i try to install it, i'm stucked when the "Personalize AVG " windows appears.My question is,does it really need the license/ Sales number key to proceed the installation...?If so, where can i get this license/ Sales number key?People told me that it is a free software.....What to do?

You downloadedd the paid version, there is a free one at http://free.grisoft.com , it says right at the top avg anti-virus free, click on that and then there will will a table with three options, choose the one with most X's , the free one.

I downloaded it from www.download.com, then just do a search for avg free. Mine works without asking for any number key.

I have AVG Antivirus 7.5 free edition installed on my system. My system is not connected to the Internet. Earlier, i have made the default option to update AVG through internet. But now I donot have any internet connected. Using Internet, I have downloaded a bin file containing the latest virus definitions for AVG on a different system and copied the file to my system.

Now, I want to manually update AVG using the folder options, but i could not locate the folder options to update AVG. Everytime I try to update it, it looks for an internet connection. So, how do i update AVG using the folder option with the bin file already downloaded to my system.

This is not a problem at all. Here's what you need to do.

1st, don't waste your time with AVG, true sword, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, spyware blaster, bitdefender, spyware guard, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.

2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is Elite software. It blocks over 450,000 definition threats, which contain multiple fringerprints with each(you can do the math). No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything and has active shields. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.

The reason might be the security setting of your browser.

Using Internet Explorer you may try Tools/Internet Options/Security tab/Custom level button

Then search Sripting, and enable Active scripting.

Please note that it can be harmfull always enabling active scripting.
I'm afraid the answer is going to involve more questions, but it should be fairly straightforward. It sounds like as the problem is only on certain sites and with things like videos you probably dont have an up to date internet browser. Its less likely to be a virus :)

What version of browser are you using? You can check this by going to the top menu and choosing Help%26gt;About. If you're using Internet Explorer, the latest version is 7. Once you have that, there are various other bits of software or 'plug ins' that you will need to run the fancy stuff including videos, such as Flash and Java, but this should be built into the latest version of Internet Explorer and if the sites dont work they should really say why and prompt you to download the latest version of what you need.
